Global warming offset by natural climate variations
UK Telegraph reports: “Global warming will stop until at least 2015 because of natural variations in the climate, scientists have said. Researchers studying long-term changes in sea temperatures said they now expect a “lull” for up to a decade while natural variations in climate cancel out the increases caused by man-made greenhouse gas emissions. The average temperature of the sea around Europe and North America is expected to cool slightly over the decade while the tropical Pacific remains unchanged. This would mean that the 0.3°C global average temperature rise which has been predicted for the next decade by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change may not happen, according to the paper published in the scientific journal Nature.”
The UK Telegraph article by reporter Charles Clover noted the significant deficiencies in UN climate models: “The IPCC currently does not include in its models actual records of such events as the strength of the Gulf Stream and the El Nino cyclical warming event in the Pacific, which are known to have been behind the warmest year ever recorded in 1998.”
However, the effect of rising fossil fuel emissions will mean that warming will accelerate again after 2015 when natural trends in the oceans veer back towards warming, according to the computer model.
But if natural variations are able to offset the man-made warming, is then our contribution to climate change significant? Also, if nature now (temporarily) cools the Earth, why shouldn’t the recent warming be natural as well?
I think that Al Gore should plan for an alternative occupation.

Child warriors
An 11-year-old girl is the youngest Canadian to enlist in Al Gore’s climate change army, according to Owen Sound Sun Times. Last year she helped her mother deliver more than 80 slide-show presentations based on Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth”. Now Gore has helped train the girl herself to deliver an updated slide presentation.
Children have become the No 1 target of the global warming fear campaign.
“We need to get the kids young,” Leonardo diCaprio told USA Weekend in an interview on Sept. 20, 2007.
Laurie David, co-producer of “An Inconvenient Truth” who co-authored a children’s global warming book has made it clear that her goal is to influence young minds. “We want you to grow up to be activists”, she wrote in an open letter.
A while ago, a bunch of sixth graders attacked the Heartland Institute, who had organized the New York Conference on Climate Change in March this year. The kids teamed up to write eight letters to the Heartland Institute describing what they had been taught about global warming.
If you doubt schoolchildren are being brainwashed with global warming alarmism, take a look at some of the letters (all the letters are found at the website of the Heartland Institute).
“Global warming means that if we don’t fix the climate, everything will be destroyed and we won’t be able to survive.”
“I think your fools for denying G.W. You know it could kill us all & you’re just adding to it. I want you to help stop G.W. Not increase it.”
“We are going to tell you about global warming. I don’t care if you don’t want to read, but I’m making you read it you horrible people.”
“I do not think that what you are doing is right because you are telling people that global warming is not a crisis. If this is not a crisis, how come floods have occurred in Asia, Mexico, and India. Plus, how can you explain why the glacier glaciers are melting. They can´t melt themselves, because they are in the coldest region in the world.”
“Air pollution shrinks fetus size, 31 states target global warming, World must fix Climate in 10 years-UNDP, National disasters have quadrupled in two decades, and Global Warming Denier Group funded by Big Oil Hosting Climate Change Denial conference.”
If you still have doubts, watch this video ad from Greenpeace. It’s scary.

Al’s worst nightmare

The deliberate hero
While the “motive” behind climate skeptics questioning AGW is rather clear – they are being paid by the Oil Lobby – it is less obvious what the prophet of the Inconvenient Truth could possibly win by crushing his adversaries and imposing heavy mandatory restrictions on CO2.
Many consider him being the Good Guy. Just think about it, he donated all the proceeds of his Nobel Prize award. But here’s where it gets interesting. The money will be used not to fight climate change, or to develop new technologies, but to change public opinion, which is the main goal of the recipient - Alliance for Climate Protection. Need I mention that Al Gore chairs this foundation?
Now this politician slash environmental activist slash Nobel Prize winner is adding another title to his CV – venture capitalist. He has joined an old pal, John Doerr, as a hands-on partner in Doerr’s venture-capital firm Kleiner Perkins (Read the article in Fortune). Al is planning on making big bucks by driving something “bigger than the Industrial Revolution” and he looks forward to remaking the entire global energy sector – a 6 trillion dollar business.
Gore’s salary from Kleiner Perkins will go to the same organization as before – Alliance for Climate Protection. More money to swing public opinion in favor of banning CO2. But hey, what about the Kleiner Perkins profits? Where will that money end up? Could it be in Al’s pocket?
Al Gore is also the chairman and founder of a private equity firm called Generation Investment Management (GIM). This London-based firm invests money from institutions and wealthy investors in companies that are becoming environmentally friendly. Little is known about this firm’s finances, where it gets its funding and what projects it supports.
As reported in the August 2007 issue of Foundation Watch (“Al Gore’s Carbon Crusade: The Money and Connections Behind It”), Gore has created a web of organizations to promote the so-called climate crisis. His battle against CO2 emissions could make him millions of dollars. How that’s for a motive?
Update:Have you seen the anti-Gore campaign just launched by The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI)? If not, see it here.

Words of the prophet
The almost president and climate oracle talks to CBS News 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl in an interview to be broadcast this Sunday, March 30, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
When asked about people who still doubt man-made global warming, Gore says: “I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat. That demeans them a little bit, but it’s not that far off.”
Moon landing staged? Me. Earth flat? Me also. But Gore forgot to mention that we, the “skeptics” also believe in alien abductions.
Listen to the clip from CBS.

Boycott Facebook!
Do you have an account on Facebook? I had. I deactivated it today, after receiving this little email.
This Saturday we are shutting off all of our lights from 8-9pm!
Why are we doing this?
If all Where I’ve Been users turns off their lights for one hour, we can reduce this year’s carbon footprint by approximately 22,290,910 pounds. That’s equivalent to saving 400,000 trees or preventing 8.4 million pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere. WOW!!!What can you do?
Turn off your lights!Last year 2.2 million people shut off their lights for one hour to show their awareness towards global warming. If we can help to spread the awareness, we can become a part of a great cause that will help to preserve the earth!
Join Where I’ve Been in this Earth-saving crusade by visiting our page and signing up!
Let’s help fight global warming together and keep our Earth a spectacular place to travel!

Blair is the new Gore
UK’s former prime minister, Tony Blair, is joining a group of international experts on climate change in a bid to drive forward efforts to reduce global carbon emissions, UK media reports today. Mr Blair, who will be working pro bono, said his role in the effort is to try to ”guide it politically”.
What is it with all these political drop-outs going green? First Gore, now Blair. Guess we all know what Hillary will be up to after the elections.
